the modern torque wrenches only carry a limited warranty because they are not considered 'hand tools'. The old-style torque wrenches from the 70's and 80's had lifetime warranties when they were sold, so Sears will still honor one replacement for that style torque wrench. Once you have a modern style 'clicker' torque wrench, it no longer carries the lifetime warranty. Heck, even the ladders back from the 70's had lifetime warranties stamped into the aluminum. Those must have been the good ole days....lol.
